A subcommittee of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) from the Endocrine Society recommended that testosterone prescriptions be limited to mean with low testosterone levels (hypogonadism). The subcommittee also recommended large scale studies to determine the effects of testosterone pills on the long term risks. Like cardiovascular and prostate disease.
Most, but not all, studies showed that testosterone supplements increase muscle mass and strength. While improving sexual performance and enhancing mood in aging men. Symptoms that might call for testosterone supplements include a drop in sex drive. Or trouble getting or maintaining an erection.
